Students: How to Obtain an R'Card

All new students requesting their first R'Card have the opportunity to submit their own "selfie" by following these instructions: 

1. Log in to myphoto.ucr.edu with your NetID and password.

2. Follow the instructions and submission guidelines* to upload your photo.

  • Choose your photo carefully. It will serve as your official UC Riverside identity throughout your entire time here. 
  • Do not email a photo to UCR Card Services. 
  • Do not submit more than one photo. 

3. You will be notified that your photo has been approved or rejected via email. Do not submit another photo after one has been approved. 

4. Once approved, your R’Card will be available in the following manner: 

  • Incoming freshmen and transfer students attending orientation will pick up their R’card at check-in at their orientation session. 
  • All other incoming students, staff, faculty will need to come by the UCR Card Services office to have their card printed.  

5. Bring a government-issued photo ID that meets our ID requirements when you pick up your R’Card. If you do not have a government issued photo ID your UCR ID card cannot be released to you. 

6. The charge for the card is $25 which will be billed directly to students’ accounts or for staff and faculty, paid at the time of service.

*UCR Card Services reserves the right to refuse any photos that do not meet our requirements. Failure to adhere to photo submission guidelines may delay the printing of your R'Card.
